WHOLE TONE SCALES

Here are two easy scales to learn - Whole Tone Scales.

The interesting feature of these scales is that they are built using entirely tones (whole steps).
Whole Tone scales, played on their own, lack a tonal center.
They were particularly popular at the turn of the 20th Century by Russian and French composers and also have their place in Jazz.
Due to their construction, all thirds are major - meaning that triads are augmented.
Below are the two different whole tone scales possible.
Naturally, a scale can be built on any note of each of these scales.
